A new high chill, early, large fruited, sweet flavoured, firm and crisp blueberry variety comes to market. You can see why we are so excited. Yes, they are just some of the benefits of Titanium blueberry. We could go on, we have not yet mentioned the fact that it is very uniform in its ripening, nor did we tell you initially that it stores exceptionally well. Well it does, all this from a plant that is upright, semi compact, vigorous and machine harvestable if required.

This super variety was bred by Oregon Blueberry Farms and Nursery, Oregon USA. A great team of people whose long-term knowledge and dedication to perfection within the blueberry industry is known by many both as growers, nurserymen and indeed breeders. We at Global Plant Genetics are excited to be representing this variety in a wide range of territories as I am sure you can imagine.

It fills a great place in the market, fruiting approximately only one week later than Duke producing berries 17-20 mm in diameter. The plant requires in

excess of 1000 hours of chill units and has demonstrated considerable winter hardiness in the Pacific North West, USA.

With yields reported in excess of 20 tonnes per hectare, you can see why we are getting great interest from our international contacts for licenses.

Is Titanium going to be a major international blueberry variety in the near future? We certainly expect so, yes.
