Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2022, Award Ceremony

The UK based company Global Plant Genetics, was presented with the Queen's Award prize by Lady Dannatt, Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, last week at a special lunch ceremony.

The prize was presented on behalf of the late Majesty the Queen to the company as winners of the Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2022.

In attendance was General Lord Richard Dannatt, who presented the official certificate signed by the late Queen and the then Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Lady Dannatt spoke of the tremendous achievement Global Plant Genetics had made in recent years and particularly during covid.  Export trade now contributes to more than 70% of the company's revenue licencing new varieties of strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry asparagus, grapes and nuts to an international market.

Commenting after the presentation co-owner Rupert Hargreaves said: “Achieving this award has been incredible for our team, clients and breeders. The Queen's Award is the most recognised and prestigious award a company can achieve so it has been a huge honour.''
